How to Whiten Clothes and Bedding

If you’re looking for an alternative to chlorine bleach, look no further. Learn how to use OxiClean™ White Revive™ to get stains out of white clothes, sheets, towels and more.

What is Chlorine Bleach Used For?

Household chlorine bleach is typically used in laundry to whiten items. You may consider chlorine bleach when you’re hoping to remove stains on clothes, bedding, towels or other white items.

However, you may choose to avoid chlorine bleach when clothing items specify you cannot use it, or when you need a color-safe option or a whitener that’s gentler on fabric. In that case, look for a non-chlorine oxygen bleach that can help whiten clothes that have yellowed and get stains out of white laundry items.

What is an Alternative to Chlorine Bleach When Cleaning White Clothes?

OxiClean™ White Revive™ Laundry Whitener & Stain Remover is a non-chlorine bleach alternative. It has oxygen bleach and is color safe, so you can use it on white items that might have stripes, logos or other forms of coloration! When you’re wondering how to remove stains from white clothes, White Revive™ is the answer.

White Revive™ works with your detergent to remove stains and get white clothes white again, from plain white T-shirts and socks to towels and sheets. It has 40 percent more whitening power than chlorine bleach per load and can be added to every load of laundry or used in a pre-soak. Plus, it’s available in multiple formats, including liquid, powder and paks, so it’s easy to use to keep your white items white.

Did you get some tomato sauce on your sheets after eating a home cooked meal in bed? Have your kiddos returned from summer camp with grass stains all over their shirts and socks? Break out the White Revive™ to get those dingy or stained white clothes white again.

What Wash Temperature Should You Use for White Laundry?

You should wash dirty white clothes, cloth diapers, white towels and bedding with the hottest water recommended on the item’s care label. Always check your items’ clothing labels before choosing a wash temperature.

It’s a good idea to separate your white clothes and wash them together to prevent discoloration or color bleeding. However, since OxiClean™ White Revive™ is color safe, you don’t have to worry if an item is 100 percent white and you can choose to lump white and color items together.

How to Keep White Clothes White

Even if your white items don’t have stains, you might be asking how to keep them white, even after frequent washing. White clothes are notorious for yellowing around the underarms or collar. Perhaps your bedding has sweat stains after a particularly hot summer night. Whatever the case may be, learn how to use OxiClean™ White Revive™ to wash white socks, cloth diapers, towels and more to help keep them white and bright.
