What is OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover?
OxiClean™ is a Versatile Stain Remover in a powder form that is activated when added to water (warm or hot water work best). Oxygen is released and targets the stains, rather than the fabric, removing many tough stains on water-washable clothing, carpet, upholstery, and hard surfaces both inside and outside the home.
Is OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover a laundry detergent?
OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover is not a laundry detergent and is a stain remover. You can use OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover with detergent to boost your detergent's cleaning power such as ARM & HAMMER™ detergents.
Does OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover contain any detergents?
The formula contains non-ionic detergents.
What is the pH?
When diluted, the pH can be up to 11.
What purpose do the bubbles have?
The stain fighting ingredients that form bubbles in water aid in the stain-removal process.
Can I use it on my clothes, carpets, and laundry etc.?
OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover can be used on a variety of water washable fabrics and surfaces, both indoor and outdoor.
What are the Blue Crystals/ What do they do?
The blue crystals in OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover are made of water softener molecules which help your detergent work better.
Can I store VSR solution in a sealed container?do?
No. Solution should always be kept in an open container or a container not tightly sealed. It will continue to give off oxygen and, if sealed, pressure will build and the container may rupture causing injury.
Will the blue crystals dye my clothes/carpet etc.?
No. The blue crystals are water-soluble and will not create stains or dye clothes & carpet when properly dissolved.
What temperature water do I mix it with?
OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover works in any temperature water, but best in warm to hot water. Do NOT use boiling water.

Is it safe to use with septic systems?
Yes, when used according to directions.

My washer instructions recommend that any laundry additive be placed in the bleach dispenser. Can I add OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover this way?
OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover should not be mixed with Chlorine bleach or household chemicals other than in the wash with your regular laundry detergent. To fully optimize the stain removing abilities of OxiClean™ we recommend adding to the wash water in the drum not the bleach dispenser.
Is OxiClean™ HE compatible?
Yes. Refer to package for HE dosage instruction, and note front-loading washing machine directions below.
How do I use it in my front-loading washing machine?
Add OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover directly to the drum before adding clothing. Don’t worry about powder going through the little holes in the drum. OxiClean™ is still there! Always check your washing machine’s manufacturer’s instructions - do not add OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover to your dispensers but add it directly into the drum of your machine.
Will OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover fade my colored clothing?
OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover is color safe. However, not all clothing is colorfast. Always remember to test for colorfastness in an inconspicuous area before using the product. For best results, add all powders to water before adding fabrics.
Can I use OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover to remove dye transfer stains?
OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover is not designed to remove these types of stains.
Can I use OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover along with detergents that contain bleach alternatives?
Can I use OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover to freshen my disposal?
Yes, OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover contains soda ash which helps neutralize odors and oxygen, which oxidizes odors. It also contains a light fragrance.
What is the shelf life for OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover in dry form?
There is no expiration date as long as package is kept closed between uses in a cool, dry place. The powder must remain dry.
My OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover powder is clumpy, is it still good?
Yes, the product will perform but may not dissolve as well. You will have best results when used with warm/hot water or when you pre-dissolve in hot water to use with cold water. Clumping is a sign that moisture has made its way into your container. To ensure maximum effectiveness, make sure to keep package closed between uses in a clean, dry place.
Can I use OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover in my carpet-cleaning machine?
We suggest that you first contact the manufacturer of your machine to see if the use of an oxygenated stain fighter is recommended and to take necessary precautions.
Can I use OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover to clean the inside of my dishwasher?
Yes, Dissolve OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover according to package instructions for hard surfaces. Wipe down the inside of dishwasher and then run a rinse cycle in the empty dishwasher.
Can I clean my coffeemaker with OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover?
Can I clean my outside wood deck with OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover?
Unfinished wood decks can be cleaned with OxiClean™.
Can I clean painted surfaces with OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover?
OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover is not designed to remove stains on this type of surface.
Can I clean my jewelry with OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover?
OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover is not designed to remove stains on jewelry.
I have softened water in my home. Can I still use OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover?
Yes, however, you may need to use slightly less based on suds level.
Can I use OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover to clean the tile around my pool?
Can I use OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover in place of chlorine to treat my pool or hot tub?
Can I use OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover on rubber surfaces?
We suggest you contact the manufacturer of your rubber surfaces for cleaning recommendations. Manufacturers normally have very specific cleaning directions.
Will OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover hurt my outside plants?
It is always best to thoroughly rinse areas with clean water where OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover came in contact with plants, to wash away any residual product.
