Removing Sweat Stains from Sheets

Remove sweat stains from bedding.

Those hot summer nights can make you sweat and that can lead to stains on your sheets or mattress. If you’re prone to night sweats or you find yourself with sweat stains on your bedding, there is a way to remove them using OxiClean™ White Revive™ or Versatile Stain Remover.

Getting Sweat Stains Out of White Sheets

If your sheets are crisp white and you end up with yellow or brown sweat stains on them, OxiClean™ White Revive™ Laundry Whitener + Stain Remover is your best bet for removing the stains and reviving whites. Specially formulated for white fabrics, OxiClean™ White Revive uses the power of oxygen and enzymes to tackle the dingy brown, gray, or yellow stains that can make white fabric look tired and dull.

When your white sheets, mattress cover, pillow cases, or blankets are stained from sweat, follow these simple steps to get them clean and bright again.

  1. Mix one scoop of OxiClean™ White Revive™ filled to line 4 per gallon of water. Use the warmest water indicated on the label’s washing instructions. Use enough water and OxiClean™ White Revive™ to completely submerge your bedding.
  2. Let OxiClean™ White Revive™ dissolve completely before adding bedding.
  3. Soak your white bedding in this solution for 1 to 6 hours. For best results, soak for the full 6 hours.
  4. Remove your bedding from the soak solution and wash as usual with your regular detergent. For an extra boost, add OxiClean™ White Revive™ to the drum with your bedding, per product instructions.

You can’t just throw your mattress or pillows in the washing machine, but you can remove sweat stains from your mattress using a solution of OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover and a clean white cloth.

  1. Fill your OxiClean™ scoop to Line 1 and add to 16 ounces of warm water to make a solution. Shake or stir until it fully dissolves.
  2. Saturate a clean white cloth with your OxiClean™ solution and blot or lightly rub onto the sweat stain. Continue applying solution to the cloth and the cloth to the mattress or pillow until the stain is no longer visible.
