Grease/Oil on Cotton

You were doing so well on your new diet, but boy, those french fries were good, problem is you’ve got oily spots of evidence all over your shirt. Grease and oil are tenacious because of their strong affinity for fabrics and extended heating and drying can make them bind even stronger with fabric, becoming more difficult to remove. The step-by-step tips below will help you deal with your grease/oil stains, but not your diet. As with all stains (but grease and oil in particular), the more quickly you can treat a stain the better the results.

Select the type of OxiClean

Remover Powder

  1. Always test OxiClean™ on an inconspicuous area first. Rinse, allow to dry.
  2. Do not use on wool, wool blends, silk, silk blends, leather or on fabrics labeled dry clean only. Not for use on jewelry, latex paints, woven baskets, unpainted wicker, jute, teak, or finished woods. Metals must not be soaked and must be rinsed immediately and thoroughly. Not for use on rust, dried paint, or bleach damage. Safe for septic tanks.
  3. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for water temperature and for cleaning garment or item.
